IF: Geeky

This Illustration Friday post is more of a How-to, but just the beginning part. See, a friend and I LOVE Star Wars. What human doesn’t? So we came up with a little Fan-Fic and illustrated our main character. I did the preliminary portion, the look and feel. Justin Black did the painting. This documents my part of the experience.

In this instance of Illustration Friday I (and Justin) are the geeks. It’s also a little fitting, because last night I was trying to explain to Tina about Doctor Who.

The following is the story that Justin wrote for the character:
“I had been toying around the with the concept of a Star Wars based fan-fic about two brothers who grew up worshiping Jedi warriors they had heard about in stories. Over the years the boys become expert swordsmen, imitating the ways of the Jedi, but lack all abilities of the force. As they grow into young men they see the Empire come to power, and one of the brothers develops an obsessive hate towards Anakin Skywalker, now Dark Vader, and a jealousy towards anyone who can control the force. Upon an accidental meeting with a rouge Jedi, the two slay him despite his powers, and become caught in a chase by the Empire. Pushing their luck, they work their way up to stronger opponents. When the two stumble upon a way to assassinate Vader in his meditation chamber; one brother realizes that he is in over his head, and goes into hiding while the other, Legris, goes on with his assassination attempt only to get mangled by Vader’s blade and his powers of the force. Vader has Legris’ body, nearly dead, nursed back to health and rebuilt by the Empire. With his hopes crushed; body and mind beaten, Legris becomes one of Vader’s henchmen, following every command Vader bestows upon him.”

One of the best ones yet. To me, the process you went through is geekier than the final product. Keep up the good work! My Eye Friday
