Line-weighted; I am sure there is a real artist-term out there somewhere for it…
For now: it’s when closer objects have thicker lines, further objects have thinner lines, some things have thick outlines that separates them. In the sketch phase, all of the lines are basically the same thickness, in the final is variation.
It helps to break the work apart into layers of depth before we ever get to the coloring…

I got my inspiration from the covers of NEXTWAVE: Agents of HATE.
