“Discovery of The Malnikanic”
[This is part of a concept that I am working on..]

The Malnikanic (māl-nĭ-kān’ĭk) is an artifact, discovered on a remote, desolate planet in the galaxy Arp 220 (Aprox: 20,000 light years away).
The artifact is a materials-generator. It uses minerals taken from its location and combines them with synthesized minerals (created and stored within the machine) in an effort to quickly (within ten days) create an atmosphere on a planet. The machine terra-forms a planet almost instantaneously; allowing a civilization the ability to inhabit local planets without the hundreds of years of waiting.Sadly; the machine’s synthetic materials are unstable, causing a complete (literally instantaneous) collapse in the atmosphere almost thirty years later. This, in effect, causes the near annihilation of humanity; we spread our selves too far too quickly- allowing for one last great Human Empire before the subsequent collapse of the atmospheres. All that remains is the barren wasteland Earth and the few starving survivors. This scene is where Christian has discovered the flaw of the machine from a hologram of the original creators on a planet over a hundred years from Earth.

Very good work!
Fantastic, I love how you brought the purple light from the alien to Christian’s side. This ties the whole scene together perfectly.
Most excellent! I love how you show the stages of your work to completion. Very cool :D
Very very nice work!
Thank you!
I always like providing the steps in creation because I wish others had when I was learning. Its a little like giving a secret away, but at the same time I feel like its a nice reflection for myself.
Its also an educational opportunity.
Enjoy!
Awesome piece. Extremely professional. Can’t wait to see more.
Love to see the process of this piece. Very cool. I like the view of the planet or moon on the left.
Wow! Love those colours!
Great illustration. You have an incredible style, love the steps too. Thanks for sharing that little piece of secret with us. :)
Really nice illustration! Always great to see the process involved!
outstanding illustration! I like that you show the evolution from sketch to finished render, but what really kickstarts it is your creative edge at coming up with the idea in the first place – choosing the point in the story you think will best profit from a really great illo.
hi
I like your drawings .
they are great,I like them more than the final illustration;
& thank you for your comment!
Wow. Gorgeous. I really love the depth created from the difference in value/tone between the foreground and bg. It has a very cinematic quality to it. Awesome design of alien (especially its abdomen area) and man!
